The Overview
RealSelf users frequently seek treatment information that is concise yet comprehensive, focusing on key aspects such as cost, recovery time, expected results, longevity, and risks. Recognizing this need, I was tasked with designing a new treatment overview page that would provide users with the essential details required to make informed decisions. The goal was to create a page that not only delivered this critical information but also aligned with RealSelf's brand values of breaking the stigma around cosmetic surgery and offering a trusted space for users.

The Ask
The core challenge was to design a treatment overview page that effectively presents critical information—cost, recovery time, results, longevity, and risks—in a user-friendly format.
Challenges? Of course. They drive growth.
The page needed to balance editorial flair with clinical precision, reflecting RealSelf’s commitment to empowering users and breaking down stigmas around cosmetic treatments.
The Process
From A/B testing to MVP creation, the process included brand art direction research focused on diverse and relatable visuals.
Testing the way with MVP.
Starting with a content skeleton provided by stakeholders, the core team brainstormed and iterated on concepts before agreeing on an MVP wireframe. After developing the wireframe, we conducted user testing and a live A/B test across 12 main treatment pages, focusing on dwell time and bounce rates to gauge user engagement.
Don't overlook imagery. It needs testing too.
Simultaneously, I worked on the art direction, selecting lifestyle images that showcased diverse faces and natural bodies. These images were chosen based on qualitative testing that indicated users connected more deeply with relatable, editorial-style photography. I aimed to ensure that every user felt represented and empowered by the visuals, reinforcing the "my body, my rules" ethos.

As the site’s most trafficked page, it ensures RealSelf remains the leading resource for those seeking cosmetic treatment information.
